Your baby’s first year is full of so many changes—and somehow, it all goes by faster than you expect.
These sessions are a way to celebrate that milestone in a way that feels fun, simple, and true to your family.
Whether you’re drawn to a classic first birthday session or a playful cake smash, the focus is always on capturing your baby’s personality just as they are.
what to expect from your session
Classic 1st Birthday Session
We’ll start with a few simple portraits of your sweet baby, nothing rushed, just easing into things.
If parents or siblings are there, we’ll bring them in for a few photos together, keeping it natural and relaxed.
Then we’ll bring out the cake. This is the fun part. Your baby gets to explore, taste, and make a mess… which is usually everyone’s favorite.
After that, you’re welcome to do a little sink bath. I’ll follow along with my camera and document those last sweet moments to wrap everything up.
The whole session is about 45 minutes. It moves quickly, so I may have you step in here and there to help keep your little one in place, but it’s easy, playful, and honestly just a really fun 45 minutes.
WHAT A SESSION WITH ME FEELS LIKE
It’s relaxed, a little messy, and honestly just really fun.
These sessions are designed to feel easy and flexible. There’s no expectation for your baby to sit perfectly or follow a plan. Some babies dive right into the cake, others take their time, and both are exactly how it should be.
We start slow, let your baby settle in, and just follow their lead. I’ll gently guide when needed, but most of the magic comes from letting them explore, react, and simply be themselves.
You’ll be close by the whole time, stepping in here and there, but mostly just getting to watch it all unfold. The cake part gets a little chaotic in the best way, and the bath at the end always brings things back to calm.
It goes by quickly, but it feels easy. More like a sweet little moment you got to be part of, rather than something posed or forced.
And in the end, you’re left with images that feel like them, exactly as they are in this stage you don’t want to forget.

STUDIO SETTING
Sessions take place in a clean, natural light studio with a simple white backdrop and minimal, neutral details.
We’ll chat through a few ideas beforehand and come up with something that feels just right for your baby.
Keeping things simple helps keep the focus where it should be, on them, while creating images that feel timeless and won’t feel dated years from now.
